Privacy Policy
Harshel solutions operates Furnishr and is responsible for the personal data described here. We use that data to run the marketplace, keep accounts secure, and bill membership. We do not sell personal data.
Data we handle
- Account: mobile number, display name, and city.
- Listings: description, photos, category, condition, price, and the area you set so nearby people can find the item.
- Activity: requests, messages, reviews, saved listings, and reports you submit or that name you.
- Membership: the plan you choose, whether a charge succeeded, and the GST record for that Furnishr charge. We do not store your full card or UPI details.
- Seller verification: a verification status and a masked document reference. A full identity number is not shown on your public profile.
- Support: the email address, subject, and message you send us.
Public listing and profile fields are visible to people using Furnishr. Your mobile number is not public. It is shown to the other person on a request only after that request is approved.
Why we use it
- To create and protect your account, and to show listings in Bengaluru.
- To deliver requests, messages, and contact details after approval.
- To apply plan limits for owner contacts and live listings, and to record membership charges.
- To review safety reports and enforce the Terms & Conditions.
- To reply when you contact support, and to keep tax records we are required to hold.
Authentication privacy
- Sign-in is a one-time code sent to your mobile number. We use the number to confirm it is you. We do not use it for advertising.
- After a successful code, a sign-in token is stored in local storage on that browser. It is not placed in a tracking cookie. Signing out removes it from that browser.
- Do not sign in on a shared device and leave the session open. Anyone with that browser can use the account until you sign out.
- An administrator session is kept separately in the browser’s session storage and ends when that tab session ends.
- We do not ask you to send a one-time code, password, or full identity number by email or chat. Furnishr staff will not request those.
Cookies and on-device storage
Furnishr does not use advertising cookies or analytics cookies, and it does not set a sign-in cookie.
- The sign-in token lives in local storage on your device so you stay signed in. This browser may also remember which approved requests you have already opened on this device. An administrator session, if you have one, lives in session storage and ends when that tab session ends.
- Your browser may cache pages and images so Furnishr loads faster. That cache is controlled by your browser.
- When you pay for a membership, the payment provider’s own page may set cookies needed to complete that charge. Those cookies belong to the provider, not to a Furnishr advertising network.
You can clear site data in your browser. Clearing it signs you out of Furnishr on that device.
Who else receives data
- The other person on an approved request receives the contact details needed to arrange pickup.
- The payment provider receives the details required to charge a Furnishr membership. Furniture payments are not sent through Furnishr.
- A verification provider may receive what is required to check a seller, and we store only the status and masked reference that come back.
- We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to investigate fraud, abuse, or a safety report.
How long we keep it, and your choices
Account, listing, and request data are kept while your account is open so the marketplace can operate. Membership and GST records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, including after an account is closed. Safety reports and moderation records are kept so an earlier decision can be audited.
You can correct your display name from your account. To ask for a copy of your data, a correction we cannot make on the site, or closure of your account, email contact@furnishr.in. Closing an account does not erase records we must keep for tax, fraud prevention, or an open safety report. You may also raise a grievance with the Data Protection Board of India where the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you that right.
